Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross (USA) defeat Liliana Fernandez and Elsa Baquerizo (Spain) to win the gold medal. In the bronze medal match, Germany’s Julie Sude and Chantal Laboreur defeated their countrywomen Katrin Holtwick and Ilka Semmler.
In the men's gold medal match, Evandro Goncalves and Pedro Solberg (Brazil) beat Phil Dalhausser and Nick Lucena (USA). Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins of Latvia won the bronze medal match over Alex Ranghieri and Marco Caminati (Italy).
